Good evening, everyone. Tonight, we are all about celebrating our industry and our fans at The Game Awards 2014.
I’m sure that for many of you Nintendo has played a role in some of your most special gaming experiences.
I know I’ll never forget the nights I spent adventuring and solving puzzles in The Legend of Zelda.
Games have the ability to bring us together to show us new experiences and to most of all to bring us joy.
This shared love of games is what has brought us all together tonight and why we at Nintendo will continue to keep working to make great experiences whether you are a life long fan or just starting to play games for the very first time.
We are proud of the games we’ve launched this year and more on the way. I’m honored to be joined on the stage by the legendary, Koji Kondo. A man who has touched all of our hearts these past three decades with his incredible music compositions for Mario, The Legend of Zelda and many other Nintendo titles, including next year’s Mario Maker, for which he will be acting as the main composer and sound director.
Mr. Kondo, on behalf of everyone here in Las Vegas and those watching online around the world, let me just say, thank you.
So, you are probably wondering what’s next for Nintendo. It’s been a busy year for us with Mario Kart 8, two new Super Smash Bros. games and even Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, which launched today. We can’t tell you everything about 2015 today, but to provide an update on one of his upcoming projects let’s head to Japan to hear from a very special friend.

Take it from me it wasn’t this easy to make Mario stages back in 1985. I’m very excited to see what everyone create with Mario Maker and who knows one day Mario Maker may become a popular series of it own. I think you can tell 2015 is going to be really fun for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS owners. I hope you are all having a great time watching the Game Awards, until next time.
Ladies and gentlemen, Geoff Keighley.
