I wanted to make this video today to speak out about an issue that’s gotten completely out of control: bullying. And no, it’s not something new that we’re just now learning about. Our grandparents, our parents, our friends, our siblings, and even the cool kids who you think have the perfect life; they’ve been bullied, too. Whether you’re being picked on at school or harassed on social media like Facebook, or even a text message – any form of bullying really does hurt.
When I was in elementary school, other kids wouldn’t want to play with me and they would point at me and whisper things about me, simply because of the way that I looked. And unfortunately I am 21 years old and I am still having to deal with some form of bullying. This time through emails like people suggesting like kill myself and even websites are dedicated to bashing me.
It’s not just kids, who are doing the bullying now, and picking on each other at the playground, it’s got out a lot worse. It’s teenagers and adults, who are now thinking that it’s cool to be the bully, but I guess let’s just be honest, no matter what, there is always going to be people out there who think they have the right to make others feel like dirt whether it is because of their race or their sexual preference or their religion or anything like that.

I’m going to be honest, it was really hard for me to finally look in the mirror and accept to I was. I know you heard time and time again of people saying be proud of who are, be yourself, but you’re probably thinking why am I going to be myself, if I am just going to be made fun of. I know the feeling. And I mean we feel so alone and so vulnerable like things were never going to better. I am sure many of you can relate to that.
But listen to this and let it sink in. You’re not alone. If you’re going through bullying and don’t know how to handle it, you can call a hotline, if you want to remain anonymous, you can. And just need someone to listen to you, call the hotline. I suggest having a support system around you. Have friends and family that you can trust and go to whenever you are having an issue and know that you can be completely honest with them without them judging you.
You want to know my little secret to getting through the negativity and bullying. I set the bar higher and higher for myself and I make goals and do whatever I can to reach them. And if that includes being bullied along the way, then you know what, I’ll fight that much harder, but take action, don’t let these bullies see that they’re winning, don’t let them feel like they have the upper hand. And by taking action, I don’t mean going and beating them up and showing that you’re stronger than them, I don’t mean that.

I mean taking action by waking up in the morning and telling yourself today is going to be a good day and be happy, continue to live your life and set your goals and set the bar higher for yourself to make your life better. And there is always going to be bullies, but you know what let’s make a difference, let’s take a stand, things will get better and let’s put an end to bullying right now.
