Okay. Where you going first. Just run it across there and go!
This is Sarah. I’ve known Sarah since we were in middle school. She is a sweet, funny outgoing girl. Earlier this year, at the age of 26, she was diagnosed with stage 3 hodgkin’s lymphoma. And Sarah is pretty tough. She hasn’t ask for a lot of help, even though she is newly married and I’m sure struggling to manage her treatments. This morning I found out that Sarah’s husband in the middle of her own chemo treatments. Husband diagnosed with thyroid papillary cancer. I’ve taken this news and stride, focusing on their positive prognosis and still they struggles I know they are going through.
Now most of you probably can’t imagine what is like to be diagnosed with cancer, much less go through chemotherapy, but I can. Because when I was 17, I was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma and I spend 50 grueling weeks on chemotherapy treatment. And during that experience, Sarah was there for me. She visited me in the hospital. She send me cards. She make sure that I was taken care. Both Sarah and her husband are saddled with student loans with UC Davis Law School and fighting just stay on their feet.
And I want to help them have one worry free month. One month where they don’t have to stretch their budget, where they can just take care of each other and enjoy the holidays and I need your help. Any little bit you can donate to the $2,500 goal for a holiday for Sarah. Its relatively modest goal. In fact it will only take 100 people donating just $25 to get there. Sarah is not just some young women who has been through a bad set of circumstances. This is not somebody who might maybe did the same thing to try to help someone else. This is someone who is a friend when I needed her during my cancer treatment. And now I’d like to pay that forward from one cancer patient to another to try to help her and her husband.
So don’t look at this is a donation. This is an investment in karma. It’s a reward for which Sarah already paid in. So please donate what you can and let’s make a holiday for Sarah.
