I’m Miss Hetherington. This is My Third Hour. And they’re going to tell you about the research that they’ve been doing about creating wireless internet for all of North America.
In 2012, Google teamed with Teacher for America inpiring students in Minnesota to use computer science to tackle some of the world’s problems.
There are basically two goals to this program. One is to expose these students to a Google engineer, get a sense for what it’s like to work at Google. And then the second goal is to solve an important problem that the classroom themselves comes up with. And they’re thinking, what is a technology solution to that problem? How can we work together to make the world a better place?
Nobody ever wants to experience domestic violence but somehow it always happens.
My project is to start building and start building it all together.
The first lesson is actually in person here at the school. And then the lessons after that are going to takes place at the Google+ hangout.
This is our proposal for our website and mobile app called Bully Help.
We are presenting the financial side of the Vikings stadium.

I think it went great because everybody was smiling, having fun.
Yeah, I learned a lot.
Well, I really hope that a lot of our students are to see a shift in their mindset about what is feasible in terms of their ability to make an impact.
They’re seeing that what they’re learning in the classroom has meaning and value outside the classroom. And I think they can connect it to their own personal lives and take that with them.
The biggest success for me is that the way to teach a kid that their voice actually matters in something is to just make their voice actually matter in something.
