[911 OPERATOR:] Emergency 911 where’s the problem?

[GIRL:] My mommy’s in the basement and I need emergency. And I need — Hello!

[911 OPERATOR:] Where at?

But the 8-year-old girl doesn’t know her father is dead. She tries to ask her mother who is dying.

[GIRL:] Mommy, I’ll tell you, I’ll tell you, I’ll tell you where we at, I’ll tell you…

[911 OPERATOR:] Let me talk to your Mom.

[GIRL:] No, She’s…. she’s almost dead, Mommy!! Where we at? Tell me! I got the police on the phone, tell me! Mommy tell me! Where we at?

The dispatcher tells the frantic girl to stop screaming and give her location.

[911 OPERATOR:] Okay, call your Mom on the phone if she’s there.

[GIRL:] She’s… she’s almost dead, please.

[911 OPERATOR:] Okay you need — I can’t help you without you helping me. Let me — who else is in the house?

The dispatcher directs the girl to the porch. She finally realizes where she is. But the dispatcher wants information about her sister.

[911 OPERATOR:] How old is your sister?

[GIRL:] Okay … okay I know the address now.

[911 OPERATOR:] How old is your sister?

[GIRL:] She’s six. Um… I know the address now. 19380.

[911 OPERATOR:] What is the street?

Detroit police are still looking for the suspect, Derrick Smith and another man that they believe was in the home at the time of the shooting.
