Send to jail after a court room appearance, not for her original charges but for what she wore to answer to them. The woman was put under arrest by a Garrard District Judge who said, her shorts were too short for court. Sherelle Roberts is live at our newsroom with why her fashion choice was deems criminally wrong. Sherelle.
Sherelle Roberts: Well, Amber, the judge reportedly felt that Kirstie Arnold outfit was her evidence of her disregard and dis-respect for court proceedings. In layman’s terms she was put in jail for just showing too much leg. And we talked to the scantly clad women and she is defending her barely there clothing choice.
Kirstie Arnold: Its not fair, it’s just mean! And cruel!
Sherelle Roberts: That’s what Kirstie Arnold thinks about a judges ruling on her outfit.
Kirstie Arnold: She told me I had to go to jail.
Sherelle Roberts: Three days, for showing too little fabric and too much skin.
Kirstie Arnold: I was still dressed up, I mean, I had on Cacky Shorts and I had on a white baby doll – tank top. And it was cute, I had the little pockets and I mean, it was really adorable.
Sherelle Roberts: Not if you ask the judge.
Kirstie Arnold: She said ah. Now why do you think I shouldn’t arrest you? And I said: “For What?”
Sherelle Roberts: That question, shouldn’t have been confusing to Kirstie Arnold.
Kirstie Arnold: She said: “I’ve told you twice, not to wear those kinds of clothes in my court-room.
Sherelle Roberts: When she was in court before, the judge warned her about a tank-top she had on.
Kirstie Arnold: And I had no bra on, and I thought that might be why she picked on my tank-top.
Sherelle Roberts: This time she wore a bra, and thought she’d be okay with her thigh baring shorts.
Kirstie Arnold: It had to be about, about right there. And I was dressed cute.
Sherelle Roberts: Arnold believes that Garrard District Judge Janet Booth just some sort of vendetta against her
Kirstie Arnold: She always picks on me, she always has some kind of comment to say about me!
Sherelle Roberts: Arnold says: “No matter what she wears”, the judge, quote: “Will pick on her”. So instead of changing her clothes.
Kirstie Arnold: I’m gonna ask them if they never put me in front of her again, after this, it was awful.
Sherelle Roberts: Arnold clothing choice is not the only thing that’s had her in trouble with the law – the whole reason she’d been in court this year is numerous charges, including drug charges, harassment charges and one for leaving the scene of an accident. She allegedly hit and knocked over a tombstone while driving through a cemetery. There was no word on what she was wearing then. Live in the news room Sherelle Roberts, WKYT , 27 News First.
