Since I began running Crime Bodge about six years ago, I’ve been a walking target. There’s only a matter of time before a police officer got the opportunity to stick a malicious offense on me as payback. A few months ago, I found myself in a public disagreement where as if by magic a cop appeared out of nowhere. The disagreement is over before I started hence why I never got the chance to record it, but it concluded with me telling the cop that he should go back to doing nothing and then I walked away. Did he arrest me for any offense at the time? Of course not because there wasn’t any. But three weeks later, the same cop turns up at my door at two o’clock in the morning and posts an invitation for an interview under caution through my letterbox. Naturally, I didn’t go because I didn’t have to.
So as is typical with the police, who can’t take no for an answer, he kept coming back. It was a legend to be the victim of a Section 5 Public Order offence, which means I apparently caused him alarm and distress by the way I spoke to him. And when the cop plays victim, it will stop at nothing to bring you before the magistrate even if it means coming to your house twelve times a day, every day. So, eventually, I had no option except to open the window and speak to it.
[Crimebodge:] Would you um…
I need to speak to you. Are you Robert?
[Crimebodge:] What do you want?
I need to speak to you.
[Crimebodge:] You’re speaking to me now. What do you want?
Can you come to door, please?
[Crimebodge:] No, I cannot.
[Crimebodge:] I’m not obliged to come to the door.
Well I need you to being interviewed. I have sent to you a letter.
[Crimebodge:] Yeah, I’ve got your letter.
So why don’t you come to police station?
[Crimebodge:] You are…
Why don’t you come to police station?
[Crimebodge:] I’m not obliged to.
Well, I need to interview you. And if you don’t come voluntarily, you will be arrested.
[Crimebodge:] Okay, arrest me then.
Well, I am not going to do it now.
[Crimebodge:] No, of course, you’re not. So get back in your car, and off you go.
Could you come to door, please?
[Crimebodge:] I just said no. What part of no don’t you understand.
Well, I don’t know why you won’t.
[Crimebodge:] I just told you because I’m not obliged to. Nobody statutorily obliged to go to a voluntary interview.
Well, it’s your choice to come…
[Crimebodge:] What part of voluntary don’t you understand?
Well, the voluntary is your choice.
[Crimebodge:] Exactly and it’s my choice not to go.
Well, yes, and then you’ll be arrested and you will be taken to custody and interviewed there…
[Crimebodge:] Fine then arrest me, but listen Section 5 is a summary offense, right. You don’t have powers under Section 7A forced entry into my house.
Right. Well, then we’ll just have to wait until you are found on the street and arrested then, won’t we.
[Crimebodge:] Well and you just have to wait for that then why aren’t you?
[Crimebodge:] Oh, this. You know what? You know what gets me about you, this whole thing, the only thing you’re here is because you feel that I’ve been some way diminished your authority by telling you off and you can’t stand it.
No, I’ve got evidence and you’ve committed Section 5 Public Order offense and as a police officer…
[Crimebodge:] No, no mate, I haven’t committed any offense.
Well that – I need to interview that.
[Crimebodge:] So what’s the point in the interview then, if I’m not even gonna talk to?
Well then you’ll go to call, aren’t you?
[Crimebodge:] So what’s the point in interview me, but I’ve no intention at all. You get back in your car, go and get lost. Don’t come back.

Of course, this won’t be the end of it. The next step will be for them to issue me a summons through the posts. You can guarantee it, but I won’t give in to them and I certainly won’t plead guilty to something I didn’t do. But anyway I know I can expect a lot more of this kind of abuse in the coming years. They’re fairly predictable, but their pathetic attempts at malicious prosecution won’t solve anything except to make me more determined to keep exposing them and to keep going with both the website and this channel. I’ll keep you updated on what happens, but whatever it is you can guarantee it won’t be anything that remotely resembles justice.
If you need help with any legal matters or would just like to support this channel then please consider using the get help service or maybe purchasing one of the ebooks available on the Crime Bodge website.
