Hey guys, and welcome back to Casey Journeys.
Alright, so today I have a different one and this is [Callie], the dog, if you guys are wondering. She’s – yeah, kind of in the way a little bit. But I have a fun one for you guys today, it’s going to be my first gay experience.
So obviously as you guys all know I’m gay with a (you know) live-in boyfriend, like nothing’s changing obviously.
But it all started back in, I want to say it was middle school like I’m going to say it was eighth grade.
So I joined art club, it was like a once a week after school for like an hour kind of thing. You met and it was just – it was just like a fun arts and crafts kind of thing. And there was only other – there was like 30 people in the class or group, club, whatever you want to call it. And there was only – and there’s only one other guy besides me. And I’m going to call him Cole, a good little synonym there.
Yeah, Cole and I got to talking a little bit. And we’d sit at the same table for a couple weeks. And then I remember there’s a couple weeks where we didn’t sit at the same table anymore and not for any like weird reason like we were talking, what not, it was like guys sitting at a table talking – you know – it wan’t anything different.
But I remember he messaged me on – is either MSN Messenger or – um… yeah, I think he messaged me on MSN, I remember it was Facebook Messenger. I don’t know, it might – one of the two.
He messaged me and like alluded to asking if I was gay or if he like – I don’t quite remember how it goes, but he kept on making like weird gay snarky remarks and whatnot. And I don’t know, he just – he never quite asked it, but like – Callie, can you sit, okay?

And he never quite asked if I was gay, but like obviously he wanted to know and I could tell what he was getting at, so I like kind of halfway ass played along like I really don’t know what to do, I really don’t know what to expect. I – I didn’t even understand what was going on, you know.
But um… I remember eventually he asked me if I wanted to like trade pics. And I was like, what do you mean, like pictures of what, like what you want to see?
And he was like, dick pics, haha. And I was like oh, oh.
So anyways, at the time I didn’t have a cell phone, I mean, it was like eighth grade, I was just a eighth grader, yeah, I know.
I didn’t have a cell phone. And so I remember the only camera in my house was like my father’s like $10 like webcam plastic piece of junk thing that he bought from Meijer because he had to have it for something, I don’t know. But it sucked, my computer was a piece of crap that I was using it on. It was pretty ridiculous, but I remember taking that camera and going into my closet. I had a little walk-in closet in my room at the time in my parents’ house, and I’d like, it was a walk-in closet, but there wasn’t a lot of room, so I remember, like pushed stuff out of the way and like make a good backdrop, and what not – I use this like $10 little webcam to like take pictures. It was like – alright, – we’d – um… it’s like – no, wait, I would use this like $10 webcam. I don’t know what he was doing. I think you had a little digital camera thing at the time. I don’t know, I wish I had something different. But I remember like – like collecting – sorry guys, I’m just getting blurred by stupid email notifications right now.
Anyways, where was I?
Yeah, he probably had that little camera or whatever, I don’t know what he was using. I was using a $10 piece of junk little webcam thing that didn’t work to my computer.
But like I remember like I having a compile all these images together and then on my computer or – on my computer and then like import them from the camera and then like check the ones that are good, bad, if they were all bad, which oftentimes works with some kind of $10 cam that had no LCD screen on it.
You’d have to like go take more and whatnot that upload more. And you have to keep deleting these things and I was really kind of like careful where you save these images on the computer in case something else uses the computer. But it was pretty hellish and then you had to like get on like – I think an old hotmail account and we were like email back and forth and whatnot. It was like sexting over like I think. I was like cyber sexting I guess.
And it was super – it was super weird, but it was like, I don’t know, I was like our first like times ever do we know and neither of us ever like talked to any guys like that. And it was kind of experimenting and like seeing I guess. I’m just going to say it was for visual implications only. That’s all I’m saying about this.

But later on we kind of just did that a couple of times I guess. And then I remember, we both kind of got the urge to like not just exchange pictures anymore.

And – yeah, we weren’t going to – we weren’t going to do that anymore. So he wanted to meet up and we lived in a super small conservative little town and nobody knew either of us were just like I don’t know like, we didn’t know we were gay. But like – and it was not a good town even like [to] have gay inclinations and it just felt wrong even though it’s not, I just did. But, yeah, we had like – found a time, like meet up at like 11:30 at night on like a school night after our parents all went to bed.
We could like ride our bicycles like to like a park is I don’t know, we were only like 14 whatever time, we’re eighth grade-ish.
Probably like 14, I don’t know, something like that when you’re in eighth grade.

We were like walking, or – no walking, like riding our bikes over the park and like walking way to the back of the park. And I don’t know, yeah, it was in the back of a park like 11:30 on a school night. Rode my bicycle over there and you know that was my first gay experience. I mean, nothing really happened, but you know, things happened.
Um… Yeah, it’s kind of funny. And then he continuously messaged me on like Facebook Messenger, AOL, MSN. One of them, he continues to message me on and kept on do it again. I felt really weird about it, I don’t know, I just felt really weird about it. So I like kind of ignored it until later on when we both got our licenses and things got a little bit easier and everything was still a secret and it’s still kind of happened for a couple more years throughout high school.
He actually recently popped up on my Snapchat [room], not that long ago – I thought it was kind of a blast from the past, to say at least.
But, yeah, we never, ever really became friends.
We just were always you know – the hook up guys when we weren’t in relationships kind of things.
But I don’t know, super weird.
Guys, that was my first gay experience, super awkward.
I’ve not told very many people that story.
Again, we’re going to call him Cole.
I’ll probably have to rewatch this to make sure I’m not using his real name.

I watched a lot of stuff on YouTube when I was like coming out days and like prior to it when like I don’t really know what I was – or who I wanted to be.
