UPS & SCUDERIA FERRARI – BEHIND THE SCENES TRAINING & PRACTICE
Practice makes perfect – it’s an age-old saying… but for Scuderia Ferrari and UPS, it’s more than a cliché, it’s crucial.
So what does it take for a team like Ferrari to complete a pit stop in under three seconds?
And how does an organization like UPS train its employees to work quickly and safely… so that your packages are delivered on-time?
UPS drivers train at Integrad – a high-tech facility that simulates everything a UPSer needs to know… to serve customers safely and efficiently. Training combines 3D computer simulations, web learning and traditional instruction, reinforcing customer service and safety. Everyday activities, such as walking up stairs, need to be adapted when carrying heavy packages and dealing with bad weather.
At Scuderia Ferrari, pit stops can change the outcome of a race so they need to be short, sharp and precise… every time.
Voice of Diego Ioverno
Race Team Manager, Scuderia Ferrari
In terms of training, there are three major factors. The first one is the mental approach.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL
We work with our guys in such a way that they feel comfortable with what they’re doing. The second part is the physical training so we have the gym where our guys do a dedicated program of training. The third one, is doing pit stops – we normally do something around 1800 simulations a year…
…and this is the only way to debug the system and debug the people.
Whether competing at a Grand Prix or completing a delivery, Scuderia Ferrari trains to win… UPS trains for you.
