[The Newest Nigerian Email Scam]
Our favorite Internet story of the week, however, revolved around a new scam from Nigeria. Now, we’ve all received those emails. This is the latest one. People received emails that said – I’ve got it here – okay. I’m gonna read this one out to you. Okay. I love this.
‘Dear Mr Sir. I’m Dr Bakare Tunde, the cousin of Nigerian Astronaut, Air Force Major Abacha Tunde. He was the first African in space when he made a secret flight to the Salyut 6 space station in 1979. He was stranded there in 1990 when the Soviet Union was dissolved. His other Soviet crew members returned to Earth but his place was taken up by return cargo.’

‘There have been occasional supply flights to keep him going since that time. He’s in good humour but he wants to come home.’
-I tell you what, you’re gonna feel awful if this is true.
-It just goes on.
‘In the fourteen years since he has been on the station he has accumulated flight pay and interest amounting to almost fifteen million American dollars. If we can obtain access to this money, we can place a down payment with the Russian Space Authorities for a flight to bring him home. I’m told this will cost three million American dollars. In order to access this trust fund we need your assistance.’
