The last couple of weeks competing in the games has been such an incredible experience, first of all the opening ceremony, having to march out in front of thousands and thousands of people was just an awesome experience. Going into my synchro competition I knew that we were in good shape and we could get a medal. So I was very disappointed when we came in fourth place, but if you miss one dive in a competition in that standard then you know you’re not gonna be up in the medals. Than I went back to south end where we had our holding camp and we trained there for five days, myself and Pete [Peter Waterfield] getting ready for the individual competition.

By the time we came back into the village the atmosphere was amazing because Team GB started to do so well, winning loads and loads of medals.

My individual competition, I went into the preliminary and qualified in 15th place. Which didn’t quite go to plan, I wanted to qualify a little bit higher than that. And in the semi-final the next day, I qualified in fourth place, so I wanted to improve on that in the final and I ended up coming away with a bronze medal. Source: LYBIO.net

And the bronze medal means so much to me. Something to show for the hard work, effort, sacrifice, dedication that I had to put into my sport. And after I won the medal I went and saw my family and spent time with them, I think I got back to the village about 2 AM. And I had to be up at 6:45 to do some more media for the rest of the day.

The closing ceremony, it was an awesome experience, it was a massive concert slash party with all the athletes that finished the Olympic games.

So it’s been a hectic couple of weeks but a couple of weeks I’ll never forget.
