[Anthony Padilla - Draw My Life]

Hey, how is it going guys? Today, I am going to attempt to draw my life, and this little stick figure guy is me. My mom and dad were both pretty young when I was born, at 20 and 22 years old. Now I was an extremely fat new born baby and I kind of look like an old man with a receding hairline, so luckily they still love me for some reason.
Anyway, my parents’ relationship didn’t work out and they split up when I was two years old, but luckily I was so young, it didn’t really affect me.
Growing up, I was the shyest kid in the world. I would cry whenever anyone will take a picture of me or even compliment me. And my mom would always tell me, she thought I would grow up to be a model or an actor and I never believed her because I thought I would never have the confidence to be able to be in front of people. I was a really nervous kid for some reason. I can’t explain why? But sometimes I would sleepwalk and it was a really, really scary experience, so scary that I would be afraid of falling asleep sometimes.
My worst experience was after trying to beat the final boss of Diddy Kong racing for three straight hours before bed. I eventually beat him though, so screw you Wizpig, die. Ah-ha-ha-ha! Sorry, I have a lot of pent-up rage against Wizpig. Despite the nightmarish experiences I had with Wizpig, I always dream that one day I would grow up and make my own video games.

In sixth grade, a new kid got transferred to my school and I was forced to work with him on a biology project about landfills. We drew gas masks, poop and flies all over the place and we thought it was the funniest thing in the world. That kid’s name was Ian and with our shared sense of humor, we became friends.
My dad got me my first computer when I was 13, my mom didn’t want me to have it because she thought I would look at porn, but my dad luckily convinced her otherwise. Little do they know my mom was right and I did look at it a lot. So uh, sorry if you’re watching this mom, I really hope my mom doesn’t watch this. Anyway, I’m really glad they let me keep the computer though because I would sit in my room for hours everyday designing websites, learning Photoshop and just teaching myself how to edit all sorts of things.
When I was in high school, my family wasn’t doing too well. My mom has extreme agoraphobia meaning she gets panic attacks really easily. So she never learned how to drive a car and she had to stay at home because it was the only place where she didn’t get a panic attack. And I guess panic attacks are genetic or something because I actually get them all the time myself. It’s really the scariest feeling in the world, but I – I just try to ignore it and I don’t tell anyone when I’m having one. So, if you see me somewhere and I’m acting really weird or quiet or something, I might be having one, but you will never know. Ho-ho-hoo! That was the worst evil laugh in the world.

Anyway, what – I’m trying to draw a car right here. Why am I having such a hard time drawing a car? Let me try this again. At this point in my life, my grandma would normally drive me at the grocery store and I would get groceries for my family, which includes my two younger brothers. My grandma died when I was 14 though, so I had to find a way to get groceries for my family and help take my brothers to the hospital if they ever got sick. This all got much better though when I turned 16 and I was finally able to afford a car. Yeah, a 1989 Ford Probe, woooo – yeah. A probe? Why would they name it that?
Luckily for me I was able to afford the car with the small amount of money I made from designing websites for people online and I had created a site called smosh.com a few years earlier and I was making like ten bucks a month, I don’t know, it was enough though I guess. I was still a really shy kid and never really had a best friend until late in the high school when that kid Ian, I mentioned earlier, bummed rides off for me to get home from school. We get pizza and play video games at his house almost everyday, which for some reason are some of my fondest memories. I’m glad I was the only one around to give him a ride home or we may have never became best friends.
By the time I graduated high school, my grades weren’t doing too well. I’m a really hard worker and a perfectionist with things that I’m interested in, but I mean, I know everyone says this, but I felt like nothing I was being taught in school had any relevance to my interests. Luckily, I learned exactly what I wanted to do with my life when Ian and I started making stupid lip-sync videos out of boredom in my bedroom on a webcam I borrowed from my dad.
I learned that I really liked making people laugh, which is – it’s just – it’s weird because I’ve never considered myself a funny person at all. A few months after we started making videos, we found out about a site called YouTube and our lives changed forever. Somehow one of our videos got to the front page of the site and we never looked back. I’m still surprised that I was able to put myself out there like that considering how shy I am and how mean some of the comments were.

These passed 7.5 years of my life have been a blur, but they’ve been the best years of my life. About 2.5 years ago, I traveled to LA to host a YouTube contest. While I was there, I randomly decided to go to a party with some friends where I happened to meet the most beautiful girl. I swear my heart skipped a beat when I first saw her. We ended up talking the entire night and we had so much in common. Little did I know I would somehow convince her to be my girlfriend only a month later, just kidding, of course, I knew I’m a smooth talker with the ladies – not really.
Anyway, if it weren’t for YouTube and more importantly you guys watching my videos, my life would be nothing like it is now. I would have never found my passion or the girl of my dreams or found a way to break out of my bubble and stop being so shy. I’m excited to see what else the future holds for me and I hope you guys are too because I’m forcing you all to come with me to the future, yeah. Let’s go.
