As you can see, PC Stout lunges at me and attempts to snatch the camera. I intuitively got on my bike and cycles away and he didn’t bother to chase me (shame – a police bicycle chase would have made some wicked footage.)

My message to PC Stout is firstly you are forgiven. Some people have suggested that I take you to court for assault. After careful consideration, I will not be doing that for several reasons.

Firstly, most of us lose it at times, its only human. Secondly, no harm, loss or injury was done to another flesh and blood human so in my book, no crime was committed.

Thirdly, although I felt violated at the time, it turned out to be an invaluable educational experience for myself and for the viewers.

I have also heard on the grapevine that you do a lot of good work with adults and children improving safety on their bikes.

And finally, I am aware that most police officers put their health and lives at risk on a regular basis to help us when we need them. I am not in any way out to get the police.

I do want to encourage discussion as to how the police are trained that makes this type of behavior common. PC Stout is not by any means the only one behaving like a revenue collector.
