What I found about the yarn community – knitters and crocheters – is that they love to be together and work together on stuff and join together on stuff. Nobody likes to drink alone, nobody likes to knit alone. I get a high-five for that one. Why yarn? Yarn was never part of my story… My background is military, and I didn’t know about yarn at the time. I learned to crochet shortly after my daughter was born four years ago. I found an immediate passion I didn’t know I had. When we started this business, we didn’t have the capital to start a worldwide internet yarn shop. No rest for the weary. We had survived a couple of hard layoffs. We started it with what we did have, which was: some yarn, some knitters, and a little bit of know how and that’s how our company grew. I am doing a hangout live on Google+ right now, at the same time hosting a customer appreciation event in our store.
