They are cutting a new video for next week and if it’s as popular as all their other videos, millions of people will watch it. Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla came up with SMOSH in 2005. The videos were pretty crude back then. Now they turned the house in Sacramento they share into a studio.

We’re like, why don’t we just make some original short comedy sketches, we had some funny ideas and so we started making those. And they started getting popular too. So we were like, let’s just keep doing this.

Research company TubeMogul says Ian and Anthony are among the top money makers on Youtube. Part of that revenue comes from the Youtube Partnership. People who regularly produce content for the site can make about 75 cents every-time someone clicks on a banner ad near your video.
