It said: “I” and then it had a line for my name. I signed it. Jimmer Fredette, will make the necessary and the proper sacrifices in, in order to play to reach my ultimate goal of playing in the NBA. That’s what it said. And I signed it. He signed it. I hung it from my bed, and I went to bed dreaming about playing in the NBA. Now you have to go out and take action and actually work as hard as you can to do it. So I played other sports when I was young, I played baseball, I played football, I played soccer, I played a lot of different sports growing up. But, my main goal was basketball. So a lot of you guys might go out and play other sports and that’s good, I recommend that you go out and play as many sports as you can. I really helps with the other things you wanna do, but with saying that, if you wanna be really good at a sport, you have to play that sport everyday on top of the other sports that you play, and that’s what I did, I went out there and if I have football practice, I would have football practice for a couple of hours after school everyday then I’d go home and eat and I’d be tired. But instead I went up to the gym and I shot shots and I did all these drills that you saw me doing today and I’ve been doing those for a long long time. Source: LYBIO.net Because I set a goal. I saw every single night before I went to bed then I went out and worked as hard as I possible can every single day, I saw my – my dreams start to come true. Now, I’m from a small town, I’m probably from a smaller town than almost all of you guys that are in here. From up State New York, a really small town, no one thought I could go up and play in the NBA, no one thought I could be a division one basketball player. No one thought I can reach – reaching dreams that I’m reaching today. But I DID! And the biggest thing is, it’s because I went out there and I worked as hard as I possibly could every single day. There was a lots of hands up saying you want to play in the NBA or the WNBA, right? There’s a lot of hands up. My challenge to you, is to go out and do it. Go out and reach your dreams.
