He spent his career fighting to overturn that infamous ruling. At Harvard University Law School Houston trained a cod-ray of top notch Black Lawyers. Among them was Mr. Justice. Thurgood Marshall and then the director of the NWACP Legal Campaign ( ) mastermind of the strategy that eventually led to the historic decision of Brown vs. Board of Education which reversed the Supreme Courts decision on separate but equal. He set an important legal precedent on 1835 when he successfully challenged the University of Maryland law school for refusing to admit a Black student.
