I got it from East Chicago, Indiana, 66 bundles of film. Many bundles contain over 30 rolls. I estimate there are about 1,200 rolls of film. 1,200 rolls of film shot by the same photographer in the 1950’s never processed, his name was Paul.
Finding 1,200 rolls of unprocessed film from one photographer is rare but even more unique is the way in which was packaged.
Each roll was meticulously wrapped in multiple layers of tinfoil and then athletic tape. And then it was labeled. Then multiple rolls were put in a cigar box. And then the cigar box was wrapped in multiple layers of newspaper, tinfoil and athletic tape. And then that was labeled.
I’ve had this batch of film for over a year but I’ve only processed one roll and that’s because it would just take way too much time for me to process all this film by myself. But looking at the images that I rescued from that one roll, I can already see that the film is degrading everyday this film doesn’t processed and little by little it’s fading way to time and I need to do something.

I’m asking for your help for partnering with Blue Moon Camera in Portland, Oregon to help us process this film. They’re an amazing lab and have agreed to reduce processing fees for this project. But because of the amount of the film the cost is still more than we can handle.
The amount we need to raise is primarily going towards the cost of processing, the rest we need to help cover things like shipping, travel and archive materials. The actual scanning is going to be donated by volunteers at LaserSoft Imaging and myself. So there’s no cost there. I really work hard to get the fees and the cost of this project as low as possible.
