So I have a little bit of a story as well. You know everyone comes to what they are into for a reason, and when I was a little kid, I didn’t say I wanted to be a nutritionist. In fact, I never ate salad growing up. Never, not once. I picked at a salad to maybe take a little nibble of it and then if I had to, I’d go put salad in the trash. I was a non-salad eater. I had my first salad at 16. So very, quite serious, and I would show you a picture of what I looked like when I was 16.
In the picture at the left, I was 16 years old, I was in high school and I was 35 pounds heavier in that picture than I am in the picture on the right taken in 2011. And not only did I look a lot different, I felt a lot different and I had a lot of conditions that I didn’t exactly know what they were. In the picture to the left here, also age 16. A picture at the right taken in 2012 after I started my own radio show, so that’s where was actually taken.
From growing up in a family that also didn’t have a lot of money, I wasn’t starving, but I was starving from the nutrition, but I knew what constipation meant when I was four. So I’ve had perpetually bad health my whole life. You wouldn’t know it now, but I had perpetually bad health. I didn’t know what energy felt like until I was 17 years old. I had no idea what it felt like to run without pain in my entire life. So…
Let me interject how extreme that was.
It’s my mom.
Yeah, four years old, she couldn’t manage to go trick or treating to get candy, because it was too much work. This is true.
When I used to look like that, I felt really terrible. I felt depressed. I felt hopeless. I felt afraid. I felt anxious. So I looked different, but I felt a lot more different than I looked. Like my own brother when he saw me when I came back from California, I lived there for a year, and he hadn’t seen me in three years, and I looked like that, the last time he saw me, he saw me like this. My own brother was like, “Raederle, is that you?”
I have stomach ulcers, candida, IBS, anxiety attacks, depression, daily acid reflux, which I didn’t tell you, that was more than once a day. That was like three, four, five, six times a day having acid reflux. I had low self esteem. I had difficulty walking more than a single short city block. I would have, my feet would be aching, my side, I have stitches in my side. I would feel out of breath. And so, I wasn’t even that overweight and yet I had trouble walking. I mean, nobody even thought I was fat. Nobody told me fat. I did not get called chubby in school. It didn’t happen and yet I had trouble walking, and I was 35 pounds heavier than I am now.

And so, this is what my diet looked like. I ate granola, whole-grain cereals, bagels, whole conventional cow milk, eggs on brown toasted butter and table salt, potato strips with beef, buttered noodles, bottled fruit juice, ravioli. I ate sweet potatoes with sausage, applesauce with ham, coffee with cream and sugar, potato chips, pizza, chicken wings, peanut butter and jelly toasted sandwiches, cheese and wheat crackers. That is really a great, anything I just said I ate, a few things besides that, those really like mainly what my diet looked like, and I thought that I ate pretty healthy.
Everyone thought I ate pretty healthy. In fact, people were like, oh Raederle, she doesn’t drink soda, she is pretty healthy. So I just wanted to point out which one of these things is actually pretty innocuous, the peanut butter and jelly toasted sandwiches. It’s a healthy food. You give to kids, right? That’s what people think. That’s what’s marketed. It’s advertised. Okay, let me start with peanut butter, peanut butter is obviously made from peanuts. Peanuts have a mold that grows on them called Aspergillus, and that mold produces toxin called aflatoxin, that has been linked to cancer and it’s – and people are highly reactive to it.
And notice some people have a peanut allergy and then on top of it, if you look at the peanut butter, it’s got more than just peanuts in it. It’s usually got hydrogenous monin syrup, hydrogenised olive oil or hydrogenised vegetable oil or one of those, either of them are bad. And then the jelly, the jelly, you know, I am sure it was great when it was all fruit, but then they add a whole bunch of sugar to it. And then the toasted sandwiches, well, you guys think the wholegrain bread is good. Well, if you look on the label, you can find high-fructose corn syrup in your bread including the 12 grain bread, which I was shocked and realized the bread has sugar in it until I was 17, and I finally started to read labels.
And on top of that, when you toast the bread, it turns the starches in it into a different substance, all right. When it starts blackening and browning, it’s chemically changing, and something called acrylamide is being formed, and acrylamide is another carcinogenic toxin. So this seemingly innocuous part of my diet that I thought was healthy, that my mom thought was healthy, that my teachers thought was healthy, was one of the bigger parts of the problem. And I could talk about every one of these items in my food list, but we’d be here all day. And another really great healthy diet is the raw food diet. So this is the diet that I follow now. Not, I don’t eat a 100% raw all the times, but I actually did for one year, I ate a 100% raw. What that means is that I ate nothing that is cooked whatsoever. So it was heated over a 105 degrees, it’s cooked.

If you wear conventional clothes, which I am sure almost all of us do, who really wears all organic clothing, there’s not very many of us. I have to be wearing organic clothing today, cause I made these clothes to myself. I thought, wow, organic shirt is really expensive. Okay, I’ll buy the fabric and make it myself. But just trying to get all the toxins out of your diet, but not of your life is really, really hard. You have to replace your mattress, your curtains, your carpets, your everything. This is the amount of toxicity that constantly exposed to. Everything manmade is potentially giving you a toxin. When you put something in the freezer in plastic, it’s going to have the new toxins into the food that you are eating, if you put in there in metal, it’s going to add new toxins into the food that you are eating.
So, and if you are wondering what you can put into the freezer safely is your glass, which you don’t want to seal something like glass break or in silicone, which is (inaudible), it doesn’t cause the (inaudible). So that’s what I use when I am freezing things, but I can tell you, it’s not nearly as convenient as plastic baggies. So very unfortunately, all are exposed to toxins all the time. So even more important than ever before in history, to eat a detoxifying diet, because if your diet is detoxifying you, then it’s literally taking toxins out of you, and you need a lot of minerals to do that. So it’s got to be nutrient-rich, be detoxifying, and you also need a lot of fiber to take the food out of your body, sweep it out, otherwise it’s going to be stuck. And if it’s inner intestines is not coming out, you’re going to actually start reabsorbing toxins from it that were supposed to be excreted from.
But if you are looking to live to a 120 and be there with your grandkids and your great grandkids, and to be very vibrant and very healthy and fit, I am representing 40% of your calories from vegetables. And that if you are eating a 2,000 calorie diet, that’s going to be 800 calories. So it’s only chocolate shake for breakfast on a raw diet and when I was first raw, a chocolate shake was my breakfast staple. But as you see now, I am no longer depressed, I am no longer overweight, I no longer have stomach ulcers and I have got my own small business now. So it’s been a huge turnaround.
I am just trying to share some of those radiance with you. Radiant and raw; blueberries, strawberries, cherries are full of antioxidants. You think that was an accident? Celery, kale and sesame seeds, natural sources of sodium, providing balance in your cranium, as long as you get your potassium, and don’t forget the water, hydration makes you hotter, sexy, sophisticated, strong and sleek. Raise your body to its peak; don’t settle for minimum, raise up to the maximum. Jojoba jumping jubilance; exulting exotic exuberance. Enter abundance, forget reminisce. Fill your life with anticipation, elite standards of elation, moving motions of motivation, goals, gifts and gratification. Papaya, pineapple and mangoes; put the punch in your tango. Broccoli, Brussels and bok choy; bring on the beautiful joy. Cayenne, chilly and garlic, give your body some fight, burn out the parasites, reverse your smite to delight. Raw and radiant is right.
