I think today is going to be very inspiring. It’s like an honor, I didn’t ever expect to recieve. I’m excited about the whole thing – clebrating women.
[Janelle Monae Robinson:]
Oh I love Pink she’s my fellow Cover Girl. You know over the years she’s been so fearless, I love her fearlessness and that’s what I admire. She just goes for it in her performances, in her messages, in her music – everything. She goes for it.
The women who have been awarded are each inspiring in their own way and certainly this years winner is no exception. I was at the Grammy’s in 2010 when Pink did this stunning rendition of her ballad Glitter In The Air, the performance was one of the most physically courageous and beautiful things that I have ever witnessed, but there was this one moment when she was lowered into water and lifted back above the whole audience and she’s really like gushing water all over these suddenly scrambling Uber serious VIP’s down below. And I remember watching this and thinking this is the most bad-ass punk rock thing that I have ever seen in music. Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased and honored to present this years Billboard Women of The Year – PINK.

Just the fact that Billboard celebrates women every year is a win for me, it’s a win for all of us. I am so incredibly inspired today by all of you ladies. This is an incredible honor.
I’m feeling grateful that I’ve been able to participate in this game for as long as I have.
I’m grateful if I’ve kept one girl from felling different or ugly or unempowered.
I wish that girls embrace their power and their worth and their value in their youth, and not sell it or barter it away for anything and have to buy it back later in life.
I wish for women to stop apologizing for those very things that make us women.
I wish to be remembered for my humor and my passion and above all my ability to go from angel to asshole in 3.5 seconds, but always for something I truly believe in.

I will be one crazy-ass grandma. I want you to picture this — I will have blue highlights, I will have fuck-me heels, I will have a really nice glass of wine that I made in my hand and I will tell anyone that will listen to how a smartass from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, told everyone she was gonna be a star and then Billboard fuckin’ magazine made me their Woman of the Year. Thank you.
Here to interview Pink is the host and Executive Producer of Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live – Andy Cohen.

I saw you show twice on this tour, it’s so incredible for so many reasons – you are singing your ass off and you’re upside down flying through the air – what – what motivates you to put on the show that you have been putting on to sell out crowds everywhere?
I love performance and I love watching people passion in motion, in whatever form that is. We don’t give enough credit to our audience – are audience is not stupid. They know when they’re getting your heart, and they know when your dialing it in. And I would rather sound like shit but be believed than dial it in, I –
You don’t sound like shit by the way.
I have. I do – sometimes it’s okay cause I believe it.
They do too. I do too.

I’m so honored to be asked to play a Pink song to honor Pink and I know that you’re not – you’re not gay – yet. But, I – I – I have to say with all seriousness, as Tegan said: we started our career being out and it was a different time and you had total [agency] over your body and your sexual identity and I really admired that. And it gave me and I think Tegan both, you know, strength in knowing that we could just be who we were –
