[PETA Goats Beaten For Organic Milk]
This footage was recorded inside a certified organic goat’s milk farm in western Germany.
Workers repeatedly struck animals with their fists or sticks.
For you, this may be hard to watch but for these goats this was daily life.
BEATINGS AND DEATH ON AN ORGANIC GOAT’S MILK FARM
PETA Germany’s investigation shows how hundreds of goats suffered in the production of milk every day.
Many animals were sick or severely undernourished.
Veterinary care was seemingly non-existent.
Goats routinely died on the farm and their bodies were piled up behind a shed.
Living beings thrown away like garbage.
At the time the footage was taken the farm carried the label “Bioland,” which is a German organic food certifier.
But this so-called “humane” animal welfare label which organic food companies like to flaunt proved, as so many have before, to be a meaningless marketing ploy.
While these animals are occasionally allowed outdoors the investigation revealed that in the pasture, even more sick or injured animals were limping or hardly able to walk.
Goats, like cows, must become pregnant in order to produce milk which is meant for their babies some newborn kids don’t survive their first days. The remaining ones are separated from their mothers and grow up in a different shed.
The males are raised briefly and then slaughtered.
Females often face the same fate as their mothers, lifelong use as a milking machine.
The goats were herded into the milking parlor twice a day.
Hidden cameras proved that violence toward these animals was the standard procedure at this farm.
Workers hit the defenseless ghosts repeatedly with sticks or their fists.
They had no escape.
This is just more proof that labels like “organic”, “free-range” and “humanely raised” are deceptive and don’t protect animals from suffering.
You can make a difference for goats and other animals abused for food by going vegan. Thank you.
Bioland withdrew its seal of approval from this farm after the revealing footage had been published.
The farm owner’s attorney claimed that the violent workers were fired.
Government officials inspected the farm several times but claimed not have found any problems.
PETA Gernmany has called the District Attorney’s Office in Arnsberg to ban the owner of the farm from keeping animals.
