Hi, guys. So it’s me again, and I think it’s time for another Vlog. So the last time I made a Vlog, I attempted to make it in Vietnamese, which I obviously – I obviously don’t speak it as well as I could speak it. I speak it – I think my accent is fine. but for a lot of people, they think it’s not good enough for some reason.
So I’m going to do my Vlog today in English, because some people also asked me if I could do Vlog in English, so that they could see if my English is really as good as people make it out to be.
Now that I’m saying my English is good, or that it’s even better than my Vietnamese, it’s just the language of choice for me most of the time I guess. and that’s not because I don’t respect Vietnamese. I completely have a love, a deep love for my country, and my language.
But given that, I haven’t had the opportunities to, you know, study in Vietnamese schools, to learn like sort of slang or the sort of words that you guys would use with each other. So most of the time, I’m not very good at that. Given that, the topic of my Vlog today would be, University Life and chilling in my room.
So as many of you guys know, I am currently in University, which I made that clear with my last Vlog. I’m an Illinois Wesleyan, and it’s a really cute little school in Bloomington, Illinois. And it’s really nice here during this time of year.
And this is a liberal arts school, so it’s a school that focuses on developing you as a whole person, and it gives you a lot more choices in certain like, certain fields where it’s not as common in other universities.
So my journey to this school, how I applied here. Well, it wasn’t like some sort of glorified story. I applied here, because I – was suggested it by my counselor, and I also thought this school is a really good fit for me, and for my personality. So here I am, and I’m loving it. And going to school in this small town is somewhat like threatening if you’ve been living in a city your entire life.
But honestly though Bloomington and Normal, because there are cities connecting. Bloomington and Normal has so much to do. And I’ve always been like amazed by you know, all the activities going around on campus during the week and during the weekends. So yeah, anyways, this is my room. I’m gonna move the camera. See that’s my room, and it’s a double room. And I’m actually living here alone at the moment, because I’ve opted not to have a roommate.

The story behind that is a complicated story, and I don’t think that I should mention it without my old roommates’ approval. Anyways, uh, so yeah, this is my room, I have two beds. I have two sets of storage, and I have two desks, which make it really convenient, because I have a lot of stuff. You can see one, two, three suitcases. And my parents already took home the fourth one. So that means I came here with twice as much stuff as other people would have come here with.
So in my room, I cook, I have a rice cooker, and I have a blender, and I make my own food. I also go with a meal plan. It’s not the traditional one, where you get like three meals everyday. I go with a meal plan where I could just eat one or two meals a day, because I prefer to cook by myself. And living in a dorm, it’s somewhat not as bad as I imagined, and I actually really enjoy it. The girls on my floor are really nice to each other and we’re really close, and like honestly, we’re like the best forever.
No offense to other floors, it’s just, we really like each other, and we have a lot of fun with each other. And so yeah, and being in a room by myself has given me like a lot of space to think, in my own time and just chill with myself, and I have this little rug that’s like my hangout rug that I just chill on all the time.
And yeah, and a lot of people have wondered. They haven’t said this to me like on Facebook or anything, they’ve wondered like, how do you take a shower, and how do you like deal with your personal needs?
Honestly, it’s not half as awkward as you think it would be. If you’ve ever showered in your school or if you’ve ever showered at a health club or something like that, it’s the same. You don’t like walk around naked or whatever like, we have towels, we have bathrobes, you know it’s never going to be awkward. there’s no guys in the floor. So that’s not a bad thing. So yeah, that’s practically my University Life.
And certain things I like to do when I’m in school is; hangout with my friends, and go to eat dinner together, you know. And we have this thing every Friday night, where we have dinner at this place called I-House, it’s a hall, and we cook our own food, and we get a different international dinner every Friday night. So it’s pretty nice. anyways, I’m running on eight minutes, which is pretty long.

Basically, right now, there’s nothing new in my life. Except for the fact that school is very draining; and I have new hair. So this is my hair, if you guys can’t see it, it’s just my hair that I’ve dyed blue before, and now it’s like, kind of like this dark turquoise color. When I go into the sun, and then the bottom is pink, which has come out as red. I know it’s peculiar, but anyways, that’s just how my hair goes, I guess.
Anyways, I hope you guys are having a good weekend or a good start of the week. And yeah, honestly I just – that’s basically how it goes. And if you guys want me to make my next Vlog in Vietnamese, please tell me so. So yeah anyways, bye. Have a good day, and I love you all. Take care and be well. And if you are in the States right now, and it’s getting cold, and you need a hug. Hug me. Bye, love you.
