[Livier Perez Caught Recruiting Students To Riot Against Trump]
Recently, a teacher named Livier Perez invited BAMN, a militant and anti-American organization, to recruit and lecture her 10th grade high school students.
A number of deportations. And his basis is kind of such a far right-wing […] but that’s all they actually hear about.
Over the course of their lecture, and through their fliers, they encouraged these young minds to commit acts of violence while also attempting to brainwash them politically.
So you can run the entire country into the ground for the next, you know, however many years. And as long as he’s carried out his attacks on Latino communities, the other communities, the Muslim communities of this country, they’re going to realize re-elect him, because that’s all they voted for in the first place, was to attack immigrants for racism.
Okay. Now our side has power and so Trump isn’t really able to just send police agents into the schools to like arrests students or into workplaces, there’s been a couple of high profile raids that’s mostly been for show, and it’s not the way that number of deportations has been bumped up, but they have been bumped up.
I mean, I mean – we’re now deporting sort of twice as many people, detained and deported twice as many people as under Obama and Obama’s numbers were like really bad, like they were really bad.
And so Trump is carrying out his program of mass deportations. But he’s doing it in such a way that there hasn’t been a whole lot of press around it.
And if we kind of break through that, we’re going to shine a light on exactly what’s going on and how he’s doing that. And we’re making a bunch of public campaigns to stop these kind of individual cases, then we can undercut his whole ability to carry that policy forward.
And once he’s not able to kind of get away with the mass deportations anymore, that’s it, Trump’s done, because that’s the only thing he’s doing now and that’s the only thing of any use to some of these rich people that are backing him. And if he can’t do that, he’s out. You know, and our side wins.
And I don’t know what it will look like, or you know, what the legal – you know, maybe he’s impeached or maybe that he retires, maybe that he – you know, just decides he doesn’t want to be President anymore.
You know like – like if the movements able to kind of stop this, then, yeah, every single attack that he wants to make, we’re going to be able to stop all of those too.
And so in the literature that Donald passed out, there’s this thing that we’re describing called as ‘silent raid’, ‘silent deportation’. And that’s – did you guys get-
Sorry. That paper is on public raids because he’s going after people that are already in the system. And so like, like if you have deportation order from like 20 years ago, but you’ve been here forever, and there’s no criminal record, and you’ve got kids here, and your kids even be citizens, and you started your job, and you’ve been part of, you know, the community forever, like you were such a low priority on the list of people the government’s trying to take action against, but you’ve just been checking in with I.C.E. every year forever, and like nothing’s happened. You’ve been able to kind of keep your family here, keep going to school here, keep working here, kind of like it’s been sort of a stable situation because you know you were so low priority.
What Trump’s been doing is; now that yearly routine check-in, people are being arrested on the spot. They’ve done the same thing, they’ve done every year for 10 years in a row, and now they go in and get arrested on the spot, and shift off to a detention center, and their family is like trying to get information about where the hell they are you know, and it’s like; it’s not something that you can get away with forever, if people started to fight, and started to come out publicly and starting to kind of show you know just how wrong this is because nobody thinks it’s right.
They’re like someone that’s been here for 20 years, just gets like picked up. You know, like it’s – it’s part of Trump’s policy of going specifically after entire families, by going after the parents, by going after, you know, the kind of people that are most established, you know, that other folks depend on and stuff.
And so we’re also going to talk about a case that we had in Michigan recently. We were able to stop one of these last minute deportations, but it really took building the moment.
So, someone let me know – that we talk in this class in particular about deport action last fall, about the walk outs that happened?

Okay. Yes, so what Perez’s describing means that parents of the DACA students are also higher priority under Trump’s mass deportation plan, because he’s trying to remove the person earning the money so these families can’t live their lives. And the DACA people if you remember gave their parent’s information to the government when they applied and are now receiving the DACA program, there are students at this school who have DACA.
And then there’s also people who, [I see described], got deportation orders like 10 years ago.
I mean, something very like, what’s the word, like I mean people – [Name/Inaudible] committed zero crimes, but they came with their friend to pay a parking ticket or something and then they get arrested for – and they get like asked for their ID and then get arrested – I mean, very innocuous like things, that got them into the system somehow, and then they were checking every year, and – up until now that was fine.
For Jose Luis Sanchez, who was uh… he immigrated from Mexico 20 twenty years ago and has been living his life in Michigan. Married someone, he has a wife of 16 years and has two sons; one goes to elementary and another to middle school. He has zero criminal record and he is the breadwinner for his family. He started his own contracting business, washing windows and doing work for houses. And he provides health insurance for his two children; one of them has epilepsy and needs psychiatric help, he has a number of developmental issues, and both of them need special education. His business experience means that he’s constantly interacting with people with both languages, Spanish and English. He’s the person who can communicate and represent the family and fight for his son’s special education services.
He goes in routine, he goes in by himself because he think it’s not going to be a problem. He doesn’t return home that day and his parents find out he’s no longer – they live in Michigan, they found out he’s in Louisiana. Again, ICE detection, one of these kind of like cells and that he’s going to be deported in four days. And his family contacted BAMN right away, we provided – we worked on – we did a legal appeal, and we like scrambled like we work like hell. We got like 26 letters of support. We had a long meeting with the family and found out these things I’m describing. We got letters from teachers, from community leaders, from priests, from psychologists, the Mayor of the city came in support, and we’ve organized protests to demand he not be deported. And about 96 hours we succeeded, we got a court in Detroit, a federal court to stop his deportation.
And this is huge, it’s just – I mean, the whole communities have been under fear. There were like churches around the country that have half attendance now, more like people are afraid that if you’re snatched there’s no hope. But we are now starting to create positive examples of how to fight and win.
Now two things; we – the meeting tomorrow evening is our chance to spread this fight to Oakland and to stop the deportation in Michigan and California.
And our National Chair, Shanta Driver, the national leader of BAMN is also a lawyer and worked on that victory – will be there. And you people should come.
The second thing is there are people in this room who themselves or know somebody who’s in this – fits in the profile that we’re describing, people who are registered with the government and don’t have citizenship and have to engage in some interactions with the government like annual ICE check-ins or having a court hearing coming up, who are in danger.
Our first advice to them is not to check-in with ICE, don’t do what they are telling you because they are lying to people. And right way link with us so that we can find out – because everyone has an individual, unique situation. And has to balance their risks and factors about what is best for that individual and also to link up with the fight that with the community organizing that we’re doing.
Now the other side of this; the reason why these deportations are happening in this particular manner, and we’re calling them silent deportations is because the strength of the movement against Trump.
The movement has been pro-immigrant rights movement even when particular protests have not been called as immigrant rights protests.
The high point of this movement has been the occupations of shut down airports and stop the Muslim ban from happening, and we’re able to create a situation where the DACA students have (you know) a reprieve. You know that he’s not going after the students themselves, and schools like Oakland Tech I think are relatively safe from ICE actually stepping on because this is an organized student body.
And all the more reason why we’ve got to attack what’s just left of this policy which is the silent deportations; which is a way to drive out the DACA students. And we can do that, but we need to find people in a situation where we’re already working with people before the arrest happens, so that we can make Oakland ready.
So, yeah, if there is – the other paper that you see says, if you see I.C.E. […], don’t walk on by, it’s a set of cocky things to do.
We are forming an emergency response in network, so that if ICE where to be seen in Oakland, we can immediately mobilize. For example, if at 10:00 AM they have a checkpoint at [City / Inaudible], like we can make that never happen again if we are calling everyone we know and students from Freeman High, Oakland Tech are converging there. And that’s just one example, but – but also the silent deportations, if we find out that anyone has been silently arrested like we’re describing, we need to be able to organize.
So the sign up sheet is to sign up – and even if you sign up for something previously, sign up on this as well, it’s a different thing.
But also we are – we’d love everyone to come to the meeting tomorrow evening.
And so write a star next to your name if you’re interested in the meeting tomorrow because we can (you know) answer any questions your parents may have. Also put a star if you or someone you know wants to meet with us, and also we’re providing transportation for tomorrow. So that’s pretty much it. Are there any questions for us?
We can’t sign up for this —
You have a question?
Yeah. Either flip it over to the back or like-
-or like use of the paper underneath it.
We’ve had a lot of people signing. Wait, does the back have columns?
Can I get clarification? What is your policy on immigration? You believe we should just open it up entirely that everyone just let them walk through?

Yeah, because an economy is as strong as its people. And if there is no jobs at any particular moment, it’s not because there’s too many people, it’s because the people like Donald Trump are not enforced to hire us. And their profits are being threatened […] – to make sure that there’s jobs, healthcare, education for all. Okay, any other questions?
Okay, I think that’s a good sign in this case. So thank you very much.
Okay. So make sure that you’re passing the sign of sheet around. Oliver, spit it out.
He’s eating a chewing gum.
Oh my god.
He always has chewing gum.
