This legislation…is was more than three banker boxes; there were more than 10,000 cards…this legislation does a lot of things, Mr. Speaker. It regulates business, requiring exorbitant insurance policies to be purchased, which will result in clinics closing doors, causing people to lose their jobs, and denying women their Constitutional rights.
Yesterday we heard the representative from Holland speak about religious freedom. I’m Jewish. I keep kosher in my home. I have two sets of dishes, one for meat and one for dairy, and another two sets of dishes on top of that for Passover. Judaism believes that therapeutic abortions, namely abortions performed in order to preserve the life of the mother, are not only permissible but mandatory. The stage of pregnancy does not matter. Wherever there is a question of the life of the mother or that of the unborn child, Jewish law rules in favor of preserving the life of the mother. The status of the fetus as human life does not equal that of the mother. I have not asked you to adopt and adhere to my religious beliefs. Why are you asking me to adopt yours.
And finally Mr. Speaker, I’m flattered that you’re all so interested in my vagina but no means no.

Members I do ask that you respect the Decorum of the House.
I’m so disappointed, I receive a letter prior to us bringing house bill 57-11 up. And it’s disappointing not just to me but to the citizens of this great state, I had a letter from the right to life, letting us know that there were technical changes in 57-11. You know, it’s so nice to know that Right To Life is helping write the legislation, as a medical professional we should be talking to our obstetrician we should be getting input from them, Mr. Speaker. Not from outside entities like Right To Life, I think that’s wrong.

Take – take a walk with me to the OBGWN where we disrobe and lay on the bed and put our legs up in stirrups and ask the doctor the certified doctor – decides to make sure – makes sure that we’re not only healthy but the baby is healthy, these bills do not take into accountability the health of a woman. These bill after 20 weeks basically says that my health is not important, and I do not believe that this legislation body should endorse such, thank you Mr. Speaker.
