MAKE IT HAPPEN WITH COLLECTIONS
Hi you guys. Today we are going to be teaching you guys the basics of AcroYoga.
I’ve always been really into yoga. And lately, I’ve been feeling like I was ready to take my practice to a new level. I just wasn’t really sure how. Then I randomly found these online videos about AcroYoga, it looked amazing, but also a little bit daunting. So I started collecting more videos on Google Plus and pretty soon I was like, okay, I’ve got to try this. My instructor Liz is a pro. Really graceful, but also a super athletic.
AcroYoga is acrobatics, Yoga and Thai massage. So it’s even a therapeutic aspect of it. That’s fantastic.
Watching her and her team I wasn’t really sure I could pull of these crazy moves, but she made us feel like AcroYoga was something any of us could do.
We are going to make sure that you feel comfortable basing. We are going to make sure that you guys feel comfortable flying. We are going to give you all of the tools that you make you feel comfortable and safe. And ultimately we are here to have fun.
In the beginning it was a little hard to get my balance. It’s definitely weird to be doing yoga in the air, instead of on the solid ground. It took a while for me and my partner to figure out our physical limitations and to really trust each other. But once I got the hang of it, everything is suddenly clicked. These poses that look so challenging they are actually pretty simple when you figure out how to stack your weight. And how to work with gravity, instead of against it. It felt really liberating.
In the end I mastered pretty much all the basic moves. I was so proud of myself. It really pushed me in a new direction. And it’s definitely changed the way I approach my yoga practice. The only question now is ‘what will I try next?’
