Late June 2016
IPF Classic/Raw World Championships
Killeen, Texas, USA
This is to show that the meet director/host nation neglected to put strong and experienced enough spotters on the platform.
Many, not all, that were put on the platform, did not even seem to have been guided on how to spot properly. I feel bad for them as they were doing their best.
To be a spotter at an event as big as this is probably the most important job, as the lifters safety needs to be taken seriously.
Serious injury can occur when dealing with hundreds of kilos on a bar-
Here are some examples from the event-
We will start of light, at 135 kilos/297 lbs.
It’s just a matter of nailing it right now. Get one chance. Begins, sits off, works it, oh she can’t believe it. She gave that everything.
-in that supporting arm. He was in the crowd and he volunteered all day, worked hard, yesterday. Didn’t come here thinking he was going to back support and he said, look, whatever I can do, I will do-
Kid on the right, probably weighs 50 kilos..
Not focused at all, checks his hair and looks away multiple times during walkout/lift.
-You know they have character to the receivers.
Our small friend on one side alone here again, 125 on his end of the bar.
Yeah, that’s courtesy; TITAN one of our sponsors for this event. Sidorowicz deep. Oh no!
Oh my God! Oh my God! I don’t want to watch it.
What happened there? That’s an-
Oh boy! Source: LYBIO.net
Oh boy! He’s on his knees now.
Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! I don’t want to watch it. I turned anyway, I missed most of that.
Oh my gosh!
We had everybody including Geno running into the scene to help him out. Let’s take a look at the slow mo reply of what happened here.
Rushing it, and he just got so deep, that right knee-
A little too deep.
It was too deep and that right knee just daunting.
Got to his knees and the spotters are having a hell of a time getting that weight up. You know what? For these sizes of boys squatting you might some need more spotters or bigger spotters.
I was just going to say that.
227.5 kilos on the bar, focus on the guy to the left..
Up, up, up.
Oh my God!
Trying to pull up his 113 kilo end, doesn’t even move off the floor. Probably shouldn’t be spotting here then.
You guys get under it.
Then over to the heaviest and worst one-
Bar weight 415 kilos/914 lbs.
415 kilo. It’s going to take everything he has.
He’s Canada’s first ever roll for 400 pound squat – 400 kilo squat.
Oh! Source: LYBIO.net
Better help him out.
What the hell?
Oh my God! What’s happened there? Oh, he tried to stay with the bar.
Hope he’s all right.
Well, he gets to his feet.
Wow, that was scary for a second.
Look like he was almost convulsing.
He’ll be all right. He’ll be back.
We hope he’s none the worse. Well, you know, I had bad feelings when I saw him lying on the floor there, but-
Let’s take a look and see if we could figure out-
Well, the spotters tried to help but there’s just so much weight on the bar, but Branton himself weighs so much. Oh!
The way he pops out of there.
Yeah. Oh, that is horrible to look at.
Get out of there.
I don’t know what else the spotters could have done.
It’s such a-
The combined weight of the bar and the lifter was-
-560 kilos something like that?
So he said earlier – have joked spotters must be nervous, but honestly-
You really will be nervous, I mean-
I posted this on the USAPL Facebook group. It got deleted within 1 minute-

Would like to send this celebratory plaque to the USAPL & IPF Worlds Meet 2016 director. Your performance to receive this is unmatched by any nation hosting a World Championship. Congratulations!
We congratulate the Meet Director of IPF Classic WC2016 on finding the WORST SPOTTERS
I tried again, it got deleted after a couple of hours, and they threw me out of the group- 🙂

Are we going to see as awful spotting today, as earlier in the IPF WCs this week?
Feel bad for the guys trying their best doing that job, but a meet director that neglected putting strong and experienced enough people to do that task. Can’t expect a 100 lb kid, shoulder pressing the end of a 200+ kilo bar, all by himself. Awful job by the responsible people at this event!
Hopefully future host nations will take this more seriously than the it was taken this time, and that the IPF demands a certain level of strength and experience to be a spotter.
PS: Attitude (left) and commitment to the task is also important-
-psychology, that means she’s a physiologist.
So she must have her mental game.
Seems like he could not care less-
We would hope that her mental would be on eh?
Yeah, we would think so.
Yeah, yeah. Source: LYBIO.net
160 she’s trying again.
