When I think of all the wonderful music that’s been written for Christmas, I just can’t pick a favorite. Each song that celebrates Emmanuelle, God with us, conveys the sense of awe that God would humble himself to be made like us. I think of those indelible images of angels filling the sky. A baby in a manger and a brilliant star that led a small caravan through the desert in search of the newborn king. The wise men had then started to follow and so do we.
God has called us out of darkness and into his wonderful light. Once we were not a people, but now through faith in the risen Christ we’re the people of God. To a world that has never seen a day of peace, Jesus came to be our peace. And as the night sky filled with the heavenly host, the shepherds glimpse the magnitude of God’s gift to us and then hurried on to find the Lord.
Jesus was in the stable, wrapped in the clothes, right where he was promised.

Today he remains exactly where he promised as he would be, at the right hand of God into seating for us. It should leave us just as amazed, and just as excited as those shepherds were. It’s why I love the music of Christmas, because these songs remind us of God’s amazing love for you and me. And that gives us all the reason in the world to celebrate Christmas.
Well, I’d like to thank you for joining us for this Christmas broadcast of In Touch. And as you celebrate our Savior’s birth, it’s my prayer that you’ll enjoy a great season of intimacy with him. Merry Christmas!
