What’s this Christmas story all about? It’s not all about shepherds. It’s not all about manger scenes as we would call them. It’s all about his love. And you see, for you to celebrate Christmas honestly, you’ve got to deal with Jesus. That’s what this is all about.

And you can buy all the presents you want to buy, give it to all people you want to buy for whoever it might be. And the question is, did you really celebrate Christmas, or did you just celebrate a holiday? Is it any wonder that the world wants to call it a holiday, I’ll tell you why?

Because deep down inside, they know it has nothing to do with Jesus, on their part. It has to do with money, it has to do with pleasure, it has to do with a lot of things.

But Christmas is all about God coming to earth and the person of his son Jesus Christ, living among men, dying on a cross, rising from the grave, ascended to the Father, seated at his right hand; to hear the cries and the pleas of his people and the sinners, asking for the forgiveness of their sin, that’s what this is all about.

So when you read the story next time, remember a lot of things were going on behind the scenes, but significantly in the eyes of God.

And if you one of those persons who would have to say today, well you know I have never trusted Jesus. I’ve been – I’ve read this story a few times, my mother, my father they read it. But I didn’t think it had very much significance for me. Let me tell you how significant it is. If you ignore it, you will die and be eternally separated from God period.

No more hope, no second chance, eternally separated from God, that’s how significant it is.

It’s not a holiday. It is a moment in time when you have the privilege of asking Christ into your life. That’s what I apprehend that you will do just now. You say, what do I say? You just say this to him, “God, I’m a sinner, I have blown it bad Lord, but I believe what I’ve just heard. And I’m asking you to forgive me of my sins. I don’t deserve it, there’s nothing I know that I could do. I’m just asking you to forgive me because you promised that.”

And at this moment, I received Jesus Christ as my personal savior to follow him from this day forward. If you tell him that, God will forgive you, no matter what you’ve done, where you’ve been, where you are. He’ll transform your life. Take you to heaven.

For all of us who are believers, I would ask again. How could you ever keep this message to yourself?

Father how grateful we are for your love for us and thank you for making the message simple and plain and crystal clear.

Thank you for opening your arms to the world, not to a few. And thank you that you came and you hurt, and you suffered and you walked among us so that when we come to you. You could say, that we could come to you and knowing our hearts we’re understood because of your grace.

I pray for every person who hears this message, that you’ll drive it deep into their heart to the point they come to a decision, the eternal decision of receiving Christ as their savior. And I ask this in Jesus’ name Amen.
