Brendan Shanahan Talks About The Rangers
This was a wild game a fun one to watch and the second period was so dramatically different from the first, what where you thinking when the second period was going along?
BRENDAN SHANAHAN: Ah, well just kinda felt like we were all out of the game, it just ah, for whatever reason, a couple of penalties ah, are line, are line changes kinda got a little mixed up, ah the rotation wasn’t real good. A couple of lines were getting alot of ice time but a couple of lines were getting no ice time so Montreal did a good job taking us out of our rythim and out of our game.
Anouncer: Then I saw in the third period they went in the defence that lock-down, whatever system they were playing, it was difficult for you guys to get good shots, the effort was there, you felt, you felt something building at that point? The mid-point or third period?
BRENDAN SHANAHAN says: Ya, you know, they were, they were backing up, they were basically playing a 1-4, and ah, and you know we were just coming out in waves and your right it was tough to get through, i mean its like playing a game of red-rover, eventually we just kept on charging, and throwing pucks at the net, one nearly went in, the video review, review showed that it didn’t go in, but we kept on throwing pucks at the net and we kept on driving people to the net and thats how Chris Drury got the tieing goal.
